Online research
The online catalogue of the ULB (University and State Library) in Darmstadt lists all books and other media for the University and State Library, individual departmental and institute libraries of the TU Darmstadt, including all TU Darmstadt journals. The rubric “search options” offers the opportunity to limit the search to specific types of media. Further limiting the search to “software” and “audiovisual material” results in an immediate overview of the CD-ROMs, DVDs and video tapes available through the ULB. The AV holdings of the Department of Architecture Media Centre can also be found within this overview.

Media Centre

The Department of Architecture Media Centre is housed in the Branch Library Lichtwiese. A large number of film and sound documents concerning architecture, town planning and art can be found here. Founded by students and financed by the faculty, the "video library of the student body" is the cornerstone of the Media Centre and is being selectively digitized. The Media Center also offers a subject-related recording service for telecasts.
A media workplace with video and DVD equipment is also available.

Wednesday evening lectures online
Wednesday evening lectures online

The core holdings of the Media Centre consist of the recorded and archived lectures held within the framework of the “Wednesday evening lectures” that began in 1987. They include a unique collection of national and international work reports concerning architecture and town planning, as well as lectures on the theory and history of architecture, which reflect the architectural development of the last two decades. Although recorded on video tape, the lectures are being gradually digitized and archived in DVD form. In addition, it is possible to watch them in the form of online video streams through the Department of Architecture intranet.
