The University Library of Bochum is the central institution of the Ruhr University Bochum which provides access to media and information of all kinds.
The university library makes available the worldwide information supply in printed and electronic form for teaching, research , study and lifelong learning. It provides media and special multimedia products according to the needs of teaching and research in the Ruhr University. These include:
- commercial multimedia products, which are provided in the context of the Digital Library NRW
- multimedia products, which are created by the Ruhr University
- media, for which controlled access can be provided within the
framework of the "Network of Multimedia Resource Centres"

The University Library offers access to commercial multimedia projects and to products, which have been created in the Ruhr University from 57 multimedia / internet work stations at present within the library. Furthermore the products are available via the campus network from every work station in the university. Access to information within the framework of the "Network of Multimedia Resource Centres" is at present only possible with the accompaniment of the Information Department of the library.

Multimedia projects of the RUB |

The University Library offers access to multimedia projects, which are created at the Ruhr University. It involves the following co-operation partners and products:
- Institut für Sprachlehrforschung / Institute of Applied Linguistics:

- Lotman-Institut für Russische und Sowjetische Kultur / Lotman Institute for Russian and Soviet Culture:
Russian and Soviet posters between eighteen fifty and the nineteen-nineties
- Lehrstuhl Umwelttechnik und Ökologie im Bauwesen / Chair of Environmental Technology in Constructional Engineering:
MILWA - Multimedia Interdisciplinary Learning Unit Water
The collaboration in the "Network of Multimedia Resource Centres" takes place in co-operation with the Institute for Media Studies of the RUB.
Further projects and co-operations relevant to media are in preparation.
